All shades of Steve
When you think of a multifaceted, creative, innovative businessman, the image of Steve Babaeko comes to mind. Born in Kaduna on June 1st 1971, he has grown from a lad who gained his A-levels at the Federal School of Arts and Science in Suleja, Niger State to a world-renowned businessman who is using his gift to redefine the Nigerian creative industry.
Having studied Theatre Arts at the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Steve Babaeko went on to start his career at NTA Kano during his youth service programme. While at NTA Kano, he couldn’t ignore his love and passion for advertising, so in 1995, he resumed at MC&A Saatchi & Saatchi as a junior copywriter. After spending 5 years, he made a move to Prima Garnet Ogilvy for another 5 years. His next career move was to assume the position of creative director of 141 worldwide.

I have subsequently asked Steve to be a guest speaker at our Pan African Marketing Conference and his story was so inspiring that the teams all now look at their lives, their work and their purpose in such a different way – he makes us believe we can do anything.
